Greece
Explore Greece: mountains, islands, history, and everything in-between
Greece: villages, ancient ruins, deep blue water and long lunches that stretch into the evening. Surrounded by relaxed people, friendly faces and lots of delicious food, Greece feels familiar and comfortable, but also hides lots of adventures! The islands alone could fill a lifetime of trips, each one with its own character, its own landscape, its own version of a perfect day.
Greece could be your next trip if:
- You're a foodie: Greek cuisine is one of the best, and for a good reason - fresh fish, sweet wine, tasty gyros and bread still warm from the oven
- You want a beach holiday with history built in: ancient temples, Byzantine churches and Minoan palaces are never far from the coastline
- You like the idea of island hopping
Unforgettable Greek Destinations
Greece stretches well beyond the postcard — mainland, islands, ancient sites and quiet villages all worth your time. Browse through and take your pick

The birthplace of Western civilisation, still very much alive. If you're here, enjoy the Acropolis, ancient agoras, rooftop bars and a street food scene that keeps getting better.
Thessaloniki
When here, enjoy the Byzantine churches, food market, the waterfront and of course, the nightlife scene.
Crete
Almost a country in its own right. The Minoan ruins, the mountain gorges, the rose-sand beaches and the food would make a great one-week vacation.
Milos
If you want the Cyclades without the crowds, this is your island. Sea caves, lunar landscapes and beaches unlike anything else in Greece. Slow down and spend a few days here. You won't regret it.
Santorini
The clifftop villages, the caldera views, the sunsets. Everything looks like a beautiful, serene mural.
Meteora
Meteora is one of those rare places where the Earth and the sky seem to have reached a dramatic compromise. It's a place defined by towering, prehistoric sandstone pillars and ancient Byzantine monasteries.

Why Greece?
Sun, ruins, and a table by the sea.
Greece has more history, more coastline and more variety than most countries three times its size. In two weeks you can walk the Acropolis in Athens, take a ferry to an island where the streets are too narrow for cars, hike a gorge in Crete, watch the sun drop behind a volcanic caldera and still have time left over to do nothing on a beach for three days.
On today's Greek Menu, you'll have plenty to choose from: grilled octopus still warm from the charcoal, eaten at a table six inches from the water. Spanakopita from a bakery that's been making it the same way for forty years. Greek food means good ingredients, prepared simply, and it tastes best eaten slowly, outside, with a glass of local wine and no particular plans for the afternoon.
The islands are not the same at all. Pick your vibe
Santorini and Mykonos are glamorous and expensive. Paros and Naxos are beautiful and more relaxed. Crete is enormous and packs variety. Before you book, it's worth spending ten minutes understanding which island actually matches what you're looking for
August is peak everything
Crowds, prices, heat. If you have any flexibility, late May, June or September are significantly better: the sea is still warm, the terraces are still open and you can actually get a table at a restaurant without a reservation made three weeks in advance.
Most shops and restaurants close in the afternoon
Greece runs on its own schedule. Lunch goes long, afternoons are slow, and dinner rarely starts before 9pm. Don't fight it. Order another carafe of wine and consider it part of the experience.
Ferry travel is half the fun, if planned well
Getting between islands by ferry is one of the great joys of a Greek trip. The boats are frequent, the views are worth it and it's cheaper than flying. Just don't leave it to chance in high season, since popular routes sell out, and missing a ferry can derail an entire itinerary.
